Moore Family Law, Skipton’s specialist legal firm for divorce, mediation and other family law services, is welcoming Georgina Nicolaou back to the practice as a Paralegal.
Georgie spent the summer months at the firm before returning to full-time study in the autumn at BPP University Law School in Leeds to complete her training for full qualifications as a solicitor. With exams completed, she comes back to the firm in February in a role supporting Principal, Fiona Moore and fee earners.
Georgie grew up in central London but completed an undergraduate degree in Criminology at the University of York in 2022, after which she wanted to stay ‘up north’. Going on to study at BPP Leeds she volunteered with the Employment Tribunal Litigant in Person Support Scheme and found her niche engaging with clients face to face. Putting her new-found skills into play, she joined Moore Family Law as a paralegal to work in the sector as a more personable sector of the legal profession.
During her summer tenure, Georgie contributed to the practice and under the mentorship of the team she learned first-hand about drafting legal documents, explaining procedure rules, attending court and client meetings. Georgie explained:
“Fiona and the administrative staff at the firm took the time to explain fundamental aspects of case management. They are practicalities which are easily overlooked in University courses which focus on the minutia of legislation rather than preparing students for the practicalities of a career serving clients.”
Fiona Moore is delighted to have Georgina back on a full-time basis to continue growing her career, saying:
“Recruiting in the family law sector is notoriously difficult and it’s great that in Georgie we have found someone who blends seamlessly with the team and shares our ethos of being personable and supportive to our clients to help them through what is often the most traumatic time of their lives.”
Meanwhile, the firm continues to seek another full-time solicitor to help with the case load demand for its services.
