Amicable Divorce Network launches Dispute Resolution Exchange Program

A US based network aimed at increasing the number of out of court resolutions worldwide has launce a new dispute resolution exchange programme.

The primary goal of the Amicable Divorce Network is to increase the number of out of court resolutions for parties worldwide. The organisation says that central to this objective is the role of the mediator.

The network claims that as the Amicable Divorce Network has grown, the differences in mediation practice between states, countries and even city to city have been highlighted as mediators work to resolve cases. In an effort to teach enhanced mediation skills to resolution focused professional across the globe and provide shadowing opportunities for mediators to observe one another in online mediation, the Dispute Resolution Exchange Program was born.

The program has identified several key differences in mediation between jurisdictions:

  1. Whether lawyers are present in the mediation;
  2. Whether the parties are in the same room with one another;
  3. The number of sessions it takes to reach a resolution;
  4. Whether complicated issues such as domestic violence, high asset, personality disorders and more are mediated.

The Amicable Divorce Network believes that opening a dialog and a platform for professionals to collaborate will enhance participants mediation skills and broaden the cases they are able to take on.

The Dispute Resolution Exchange Program is open to any mediator outside of the United States but only Amicable Divorce Network members within the United States. Meetings have been occurring but in the future will occur on the last Friday of each month at 9:00 am eastern/ 2:00pm BST on Zoom.
