Taylor Rose has marked “a significant step” in its plans to boost its family law division with the promotion of Amarjit Ryatt to head of family and divorce, while Switalskis has appointed Bradie Pell as solicitor and head of its family law team in Sheffield.
Ryatt, who joined Taylor Rose through its merger with MW Solicitors in 2020, has over two decades of specialist experience in family law. His career has spanned both legal aid and private client work, and he is recognised for his expertise in complex divorce, financial settlements, nuptial agreements and child arrangements. He is also accredited to the Law Society’s Children Panel.
“Stepping into this role comes at a pivotal time for family law,” Ryatt said.
“There is a significant opportunity in the market, especially as we see greater demand for out-of-court resolution hearings, as well as a rise in pre- and post-nuptial agreements as more young professionals enter relationships with a clear focus on protecting their assets.
“We’re looking to grow the team, supported by the industry-leading infrastructure, technology and support that Taylor Rose provides.”
Commenting on Ryatt’s promotion, Adrian Jaggard, CEO of Taylor Rose and its parent AIIC Group, said:
“Our Family Law and Divorce team is focused on developing and delivering the specialist support families need as they navigate some of life’s most complex and sensitive moments. Strengthening our capability in this area is a key priority for the firm, and Amarjit’s leadership and expertise will be central to achieving that.”
At Switalskis, Pell will work alongside the national family team directors to enhance the firm’s family legal offering. She advises clients on all aspects of family law, including divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships, financial matters, separation, cohabitation disputes and children matters.
She is best known for handling complex and high-value financial cases, often involving business interests, property portfolios and sensitive negotiations. Prior to joining Switalskis, Pell worked as a family lawyer across South Yorkshire, most recently as partner and head of family law. She is one of only two lawyers in South Yorkshire recognised as a Legal 500 Next Generation Partner.
“I was keen to join Switalskis because of its strong reputation,” Pell said of her appointment.
“It’s also a larger firm with professionals covering a range of specialisms, meaning clients can get collaborative advice under one roof. That’s invaluable when family cases need support around property, business assets or future planning. I’m excited to grow the Sheffield team and continue working with clients to help them find a way forward at a difficult time in their lives.”
Clare Peckett, director and head of family law at Switalskis, said:
“Bradie’s appointment strengthens both the Sheffield office and the wider department. She brings a wealth of legal experience and a large dose of common sense. Her years in practice in Sheffield bring local knowledge and a commitment to the community in which she works. Bradie’s arrival enhances the depth we have within our family team even further.”
