Cafcass recruiting for newly qualified social workers

Cafcass are looking to grow highly skilled professionals who’ll ensure that the voice of the child comes first.

Their Newly Qualified Social Worker (NQSW) programme is now open for applications for soon-to-be qualified Social Workers (or those who have recently gained a recognised qualification) who want exceptional grounding in children’s social care.

This programme is overseen by the Cafcass Social Work Academy and enables NQSW to develop practice skills in a safe environment. Led by expert social workers, it will support their journey, enhance their expertise and ensure that they can work with confidence. As well as an empowering peer network, participants have access to a mentor plus high levels of reflective supervision. Over the course of a structured three-year programme, NQSW develop professional maturity, gain hands-on experience, and achieve a respected qualification.

On Tuesday 27 April at 5.30pm Cafcass will be holding a webinar where those who are interested in apply can find out more about the programme.

Sarah Parsons, Assistant Director for National Improvement Service and Principal Social Worker said:

“Our focus is always on the best outcomes for children, who will be depending on us to secure the right result at a crucial time. Determination and resilience are essential, along with a gift for empathy, communication and analysis for the child. Training can be challenging, but participants will finish with a fantastic grounding for their future career.”

You can find out more about the programme, sign up to the webinar and find out how to apply in our dedicated NQSW section.
