Raising awareness of domestic abuse: The Intersection of Technology in Domestic Abuse and Family Law Cases

Following The Purple Pledge Domestic Abuse and Employment Conference recently held at Millennium Point, Birmingham, The Haven Training will be continuing to raise awareness to organisations about domestic abuse with its workshop on ‘The Intersection of Technology in Domestic Abuse and Family Law Cases’.

Conference speakers from organisations who support domestic abuse victims and survivors talked about various topics including family law at The Purple Pledge Domestic Abuse and Employment Conference last month.

Richard Port MBE, Family Lawyer and Partner at George Green Solicitors, said:

“Today is the day you can help victims by joining The Purple Pledge. Back up their voice. Make it louder. Victims don’t come forward till you give them the opportunity to do so. Tell them you support them. Show them you support them. Be the change.”

The next Purple Pledge awareness event is an interactive workshop in collaboration with Our Family Wizard and led by Steven Bradley.  It is taking place on Friday 17th November 2023 at The Changemakers Hub, Wolverhampton. For more information on this interactive workshop check out the event details here.

Steven is an ex-FBI taskforce leader with an extensive law enforcement career combatting technology crime including child pornography, cyberstalking, and financial exploitation.

The training session will explore the risks and benefits of technology, not only for the clients we serve, but also for you in your personal and professional lives. Attendees will learn safety planning and evidence collection strategies for phone technology, location apps, social media, and more.

The recent conference is part of the work the training team at The Haven Enterprise, part of West Midlands domestic abuse charity The Haven Wolverhampton, provide to support employers and employees nationally around domestic abuse policies, support, and awareness.
