Vardags has announced that leading family lawyer David Lister has joined their London Office as Senior Partner.

Announcing his arrival, Vardags said Lister has pioneered the use of litigation funding and third-party disclosure during his career, as well as having conduct of the largest court-determined matrimonial settlement at the time (£54 million), with proceedings in six jurisdictions.

With over 35 years of experience at the forefront of the profession, David’s practice comprises a wide ambit of family law issues, namely high net worth and ultra-high net worth (UNHW) divorce and matrimonial finance issues with complex legal, financial, and factual disputes and international elements.

“David brings a wealth of experience and expertise in UHNW cases and the kind of cutting edge, trailblazing techniques we love at Vardags, as well as more energy, personality and humour than most of the people one might meet in a lifetime”, says Founder and President of Vardags, Ayesha Vardag:

“He is a landmark addition to our partnership and marks an exciting new phase in the development of Vardags. His contribution will reinforce the fact that the quality of our work and our people and the strength and warmth of our community form the foundation of everything we do.”

David Lister said:

“Glad to have been headhunted by the disruptor firm Vardags, headed by my old friend Ayesha. Looking forward to immersing myself into the depths of complex, multi-jurisdictional, financial, and matrimonial work that is so true to Vardags, supported by a team who I can already feel are going to be fantastic behind me.”
