Chatham specialist family law firm Hatton Family Law has been acquired by Stowe Family Law expanding the presence of the private-equity backed firm into the Southern Home Counties, said Stowe Chairman Ken Fowlie.
Hatton Family Law joins Chapman Pieri, Watson Thomas Solicitors, Crisp & Co and Hawkins Family Law as another acquisition by Stowe, who are backed by Investcorp. Investcorp acquired the 90 office firm from Livingbridge in September 2024, and now has over 200 family lawyers in the business, making Stowe one of the largest family firms in the country.
“Adding the Hatton team to the Stowe family will add depth and breadth to our offering and help us expand our presence in the Southern Home Counties. Enquiries into the firm continue their upward trend, and the acquisition of Hatton will help us support more families as they navigate the issues associated with a relationship breakdown.”
said Ken Fowlie, adding
“As we continue to pursue our aspiration to be the UK’s leading family law practice, adding Hatton is another step towards our goal. I am delighted to welcome Deborah, Sharon and the rest of the team to Stowe. It will be terrific to work together as a larger team, given the close cultural alignment we have felt as we have worked together on this project.”
Heading up the new team, Stowe’s Regional Director for London & the Southeast, Jemma Slavin, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Hatton and its talented team of specialist family lawyers to Stowe. This acquisition reinforces our dedication to exceptional service and will allow us to better serve our growing number of clients across the UK, particularly in the Southern Home Counties.”
