Chair Of Cafcass Steps Down Permanently

This month Edward Timpson CBE has stood down permanently from his role as Chair of the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass).

Timpson stood down from his current role after being elected as the MP for Eddisbury in the December 2019 General Election.

The appointment of his successor will be arranged and led by the Ministry of Justice.

In the interim, Sally Cheshire CBE, who is the current Deputy Chair of the Cafcass board will carry out any duties which would normally be required under the Chair’s role in the meantime.

Sally has carried out her role and been a member of the Cafcass Board since May 2018. She was appointed Deputy of the Board in February 2019. To read more about Sally’s background click here.

Cafcass have seen some changes in regard to their board over the past 12 months as back in September 2019 Cafcass welcomed their new Chief Executive Jacky Tiotto to the fold.
