The shortlist for the very first British Family Law Awards has been exclusively revealed this morning with firms up and down the country recognised for the excellence in service, expertise and skill. Tickets are now available for the glitzy ceremony which will be hosted at the Bristol Harbour Hotel on 25th January 2024.
The British Family Law Awards have been launched by Today’s Media, the publishers of the daily news publication Today’s Family Lawyer, to recognise and celebrate excellence across the vibrant family law community. The awards follow in the footsteps of the now well-established British Wills and Probate Awards and British Conveyancing Awards.
The evening is unique in its format, encouraging extensive networking alongside the celebrations throughout the evening. The Ceremony is hosted at the start of the evening with Joanna Gosling leading proceedings; the former BBC news presenter has recently joined Irwin Mitchell as a mediator in the family law team. Attendees then move to a dedicated Networking Reception with the attendee list published beforehand, before the evening dinner and after party.

Through its online presence, and weekly newsletter, it delivers editorially independent news, case commentaries, industry insight and regulatory updates to thousands of family lawyers in England and Wales every day.
It was through this lens that the concept of The British Family Law Awards was developed; a wholly independent event bringing the very best of the family law community together from across the country. 14 categories, all with carefully curated criteria, designed to showcase the incredible work of lawyers who work tirelessly to promote and provide access to justice for so many.

Commenting on the shortlist Today’s Media Managing Director David Opie said
In its first year the shortlist is everything we had hoped it would be; a recognition of firms up and down the country, from large to boutique, who deliver excellence in legal expertise, client service and staff wellbeing. We look forward to welcoming the cream of the family community to Bristol to celebrate with us in this inaugural year of The British Family Law Awards.
