4PB launches Student Family Law Essay Competition

4PB has launched a student essay competition focused on Financial Remedies.

With this opportunity, 4PB aims to introduce current law students, as well as those who have completed their studies and are actively seeking pupillage, to the realm of Financial Remedies law in the hope that they will be inspired to further explore this area of law. This competition underscores 4PB’s commitment to nurturing excellence and innovation in the field of Financial Remedies.

4PB invites current law students, and those that may have completed their studies but are still searching for pupillage and are a member of an Inn, to write a 1,000 word essay discussing the following: “Courts should consider a party’s behaviour in the division of financial assets. The case law has set the bar too high.”

The judging panel will select one essay as the winning entry and up to two additional essays as the top entries alongside the winner. The winner will receive £500, a mini-pupillage to be organised for a week between January and February 2024 and an invitation to a networking evening with a guest speaker and an opportunity to meet members of 4PB’s Financial Remedies team.

The essay(s) selected as a top entry will also receive invites for a mini-pupillage and to the networking event. The judges will be assessing the essays for originality of ideas; clarity, coherence and impact of writing; relevance to the competition’s topic and the proper citation and use of sources.

The deadline is 4pm on 24th November and for more information, visit: https://www.4pb.com/financial-remedies-essay-competition/
