Update: Domestic Abuse Bill

This evening (21st April), the House of Lords considered the House of Commons amendments on the Domestic Abuse Bill.

The Bill went to the Commons for consideration of Lords amendments on Thursday 15 April 2021. The Commons disagreed with the Lords amendments and returned the Bill to the Lords with Reasons.

The Lords debated the Reasons, but due to time constraints were unable to finish their discussions. These discussions will continue at another time, in which the House of Commons will consider the House of Lords amendments.

The Bill is moving through the final stages of the process before receiving Royal Assent.

The latest information surrounding the Bill is available here.
