Today’s Training: Family Law Courses

Today’s Family Lawyer would like to introduce our inaugural training sessions which will aim to provide family lawyers with the essential knowledge and skills they require to excel in their practice.

While this marks our first training programme dedicated to family law, it’s worth noting that we have a strong track record of successful training programmes with Todays’ Conveyancer and Today’s Wills and Probate. Some recent feedback from the previous programmes stated:

Training session 1:

Family Law Update: Tuesday November 21st 2023 4:45-5:45 £55

We are launching a new area of Today’s Training for Family Lawyers, starting with a ‘Children Law Update’ hosted by Safda Mahmood.

The course will be beneficial for both family and children practitioners seeking to refresh their knowledge of family law and practice and ensure they are updated on developments. This course will enable the delegate to get a better understanding of the processes involved. The course will focus on providing an update on the following areas of family law:

  • Divorce and Dissolution – What are the changes and how is the new law working?
  • Financial Aspects – Procedure and Case Law Developments
  • Cohabitation matters – Developments
  • Personal Protection – Developments surrounding the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and Practice Guidance
  • Private and Public Children Aspects – Some case law developments

Key Learning Outcomes:

  1. An understanding of the key issues and updates surrounding family law and practice
  2. An understanding of key legislative and case law developments
  3. An understanding of developments in family law, so as to apply these to your practice whether in private practice or local authority.

Children Law Update 2023: Tuesday November 28th 2023 4:45-5:45 £55

We are launching a new area of Today’s Training for Family Lawyers, starting with a ‘Children Law Update’ hosted by Safda Mahmood.

The course will be beneficial for both family and children practitioners seeking to refresh their knowledge of children law and practice and ensure they are updated on developments. The course will enable the delegate to get a better understanding of the processes involved. The course will focus on providing an update on the following areas of children law:

  • Private Children law
  • Public Children Law
  • Adoption Law and Practice
  • Domestic Abuse and Private Children law cases

Training session 3:

An Introduction to Family Law (10-episode series) Tuesday 9th January 2024 4:45-5:45 £315

We are launching Today’s Training first Family Law training with ‘An Introduction to Family Law’, a 10 part series with Safda Mahmood.

This course, brought to you by Today’s Training, will enable the delegates to get a better understanding of the processes involved in Family Law. This course will focus on family law cases, from instruction to conclusion. There will be consideration of the following:

  • Taking Instructions and Funding, understanding Legal Aid/Public Funding
  • Law and Practices
  • Running Cases
  • Instructing Experts in cases involving Children – What is the Procedure?
  • Which forms are to be completed and how?
  • Becoming more Confident in Running Children Cases
  • Case Study Application
