Resolution’s “Good Divorce Week” embraces a child-focused approach to separation

Resolution will be holding Good Divorce Week next week (29 November – 3 December), where they’ll be aiming to kickstart a national conversation about how parents can embrace a child-focused approach to separation.

The week-long programme will focus on a number of tools and initiatives that can help family practitioners and their clients navigate the challenging experience of divorce, placing the best interests of children at the centre of discussions.

Resolution acknowledges that family relationships in particular, have come under immense pressure since the start of the pandemic and children of separating parents can find divorce one of the most challenging and impactful experiences of their lives. This is why Resolution have put together several resources, accessible throughout Good Divorce Week, on their website.

Amongst the available resources is the newly launched Parenting Through Separation Guide, a free resource containing information, advice and support to help parents in their parenting journey through separation, divorce and beyond.

Resolution are also inviting practitioners to promote the guide to their local MPs as well as asking them to take part in a survey to find out how the pandemic has affected separating constituents and their children. A template to contact local MPs has been provided on the Resolution website here.
