- Stephen Kinsella
- Pauline Campbell
“Congratulations to all our nominees, both winners and shortlisted,” said Law Society president Nick Emmerson.
“It is great to recognise their efforts. It is inspiring to hear about the incredible work they have done, positively impacting their local communities.”
Legal Heroes were nominated for their work in a wide range of projects and charities, such as protecting animal welfare, advocating for Windrush victims and tackling overseas sexual abuse. One nominee is recognised for working on ‘Law for Change’ supporting people who cannot access justice.
Others have worked tirelessly to improve social mobility and provide young people from lower income backgrounds with the opportunity to gain insight into a legal career and showcase their talents.
Nick Emmerson continued: “Our justice system cannot work without solicitors and this is a good time to celebrate some of those dedicated lawyers who selflessly support their local communities. These are people who use their skills and expertise to assist those in need demonstrating values that are at the heart our profession.”
Legal Hero winner Duncan McNair said who received an award for his work protecting Asian Elephants through the Animals Act 2023: “I’m very proud and surprised but also very gratified because this is a cause that desperately needs public attention.
