Latest promotions and hires; and Resolution appoints youngest regional chair

Resolution West Midlands has announced the appointment of Kadie Bennett, a family law solicitor at Anthony Collins Solicitors in Birmingham, as their next Chair, becoming one of the youngest to hold such a position nationally.

A long-standing member of Resolution, Kadie is known for her expertise in complex financial remedy and children matters, and her commitment to improving the family justice system. On her appointment, Kadie said

“I am proud to be leading this vibrant organisation and furthering Resolution’s ambition to improve the family justice system.”

Jackson Lees Group, part of the MAPD Group, has announced head of the family team Sarah McCarthy has been promoted to Partner, alongside four of her colleague in the private client team. Conveyancing specialist Janet Jones, and court of protection and estate practitioners Chris Stone, and Claire Martini have been promoted to partner while John-Paul Dennis becomes Divisional Director of Wills, Trusts and Probate

Staying in Liverpool, North-West firm Napthens has strengthened its Liverpool office with the appointment of Matthew Taylor as Partner and Head of Family, and Stephen Mackellar as Senior Associate in the Wills, Trusts and Probate team.

Taylor, a Legal 500-ranked specialist in divorce and cohabitation finance, is a well-known media commentator and podcaster on family law. He joins from Stowe Family Law, where he built and led the Liverpool office.

Mackellar, also Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked, advises high-net-worth individuals on estate planning and inheritance matters, added

Helen Lucking, Partner and Head of Family, welcomed Taylor’s arrival saying “He brings a wealth of experience and will play a key role in expanding our family law offering.”

Belderbos Solicitors, based in Oakham, has appointed Emma Potter as a solicitor in its family law team. Emma, who qualified in March 2025, advises on divorce, financial settlements, and child arrangements. A member of Resolution, she is committed to resolving disputes amicably and avoiding court where possible.

Commenting on her appointment Potter said

“Resolving family matters amicably benefits everyone, especially when children are involved. “We’ll always explore out-of-court solutions first.”
