Cafcass is looking for additional external members with significant experience in family justice research to join its Research Advisory Committee.
The committee is responsible for reviewing and providing advice to Cafcass on external and internal research applications that are looking for access to our case-related data, or are interested in speaking to Cafcass staff and/or children and families we work with as part of their research.
The committee helps to ensure the research Cafcass support is robust and able to positively influence practice developments and work in the wider family justice system.
Cafcass are seeking four new external members to both expand the diversity of their existing membership, and fill a vacancy created by Oli Preston stepping down after taking up a new role in a different field.
They are particularly keen to hear from a wide range of Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic heritages, those who identify as LGBT+, as well as anyone from other under-represented groups in society or with direct experience of family court proceedings. Applicants with research expertise in the field of equality, diversity and inclusion as it relates to family justice are also encouraged.
Details on how to apply are available here and in the careers section of the Cafcass website. The closing date for applications is Friday 11 June 2021.
