In support of Baby Loss Awareness Week, RWK Goodman are inviting UK organisations to take part in their ‘Time for Action’ initiative. From 9th to 15th October, they are offering free access to our online training, designed to raise awareness and foster understanding around pregnancy and baby loss.
This training is a simple yet impactful way for companies to show their employees and society that they care about this important issue. The course takes just 10 minutes to complete, and while it’s not limited to the legal profession, they are leading the way in driving this crucial change.
The programme has been designed by baby-loss awareness campaigner Keeley Lengthorn, a partner in the family team at Taylor Rose MW. Borne out of her own experiences, Keeley began a campaign in 2022 for the UK to better protect employees who suffer pregnancy loss beyond 24 weeks.Dubbed “George’s Law” after her own son who she lost at 22 1/2 weeks, the ambition is to enact legislation that would provide 3 days statutory leave in the event of baby-loss.
During Baby Loss Awareness Week, which runs from 9th-15th October, individuals impacted by pregnancy and baby loss will come together both in person and online to participate in various remembrance activities.
These events aim to foster conversations and break the silence that still surrounds pregnancy and infant loss for many families. Recent figures reveal that half of UK adults have either personally experienced or know someone who has been affected by some form of pregnancy or baby loss.
