Applications for a government-funded legal tech incubator launched by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) are now open, with submissions encouraged from across legal services.
Legal services is the first sector to participate in the AI Growth Lab (AIGL), a government-led advisory sandbox intended to accelerate the development and deployment of AI products and services.
Through the initiative, companies developing AI products and services are able to perform supervised testing in real-world conditions before launching to market, with the Legal Services Board, Council for Licensed Conveyancers and Solicitors Regulation Authority all on hand to provide practical guidance on how existing regulatory frameworks apply to AI technologies. Further industries will follow.
AIGL is encouraging LawTech companies, law firms and alternative business structures, conveyancing firms, AI developers, public sector organisations and SMEs and other unregulated providers to apply. Applications are open until 27th September 2026.
