A new podcast presented by two family law partners celebrates the importance of staying connected for wellbeing.
According to its co-founders, Family Law Friends focuses “less on the letter of the law and more on the challenges and rewards of the job and how to strike a balance between work and home life.”
Co-hosts and first time podcasters Sadie Glover and Estella Newbold-Brown head up the family departments at Blaser Mills in Marlow and London’s Amphlett Lissimore Law respectively.
Launched at the end of December 2025, the friends have so far produced two episodes. Early guests have included barrister Chris Bryden, head of family and property teams at 4 King’s Bench Walk and Gemma Lindfield, a family law barrister and qualified arbitrator (children) at 5 St Andrew’s Hill.
They describe Family Law Friends as a “safe, inclusive and supportive space where everyone is welcome.”
Glover said:
“I had been thinking about the concept for quite some time.
“It seemed to me that family law in particular is such a tough gig and that there was no real conversation within the community about wellbeing and how valuable it is to build friendships and connections as a means of support while doing this difficult job.”
Newbold-Brown was her first choice for a podcast co-host, Glover added, citing the importance of their friendship. “I reached out to Estella with the idea and invited her to co-host with me,” she explained.
“She was my first choice because she is so warm and friendly, and we get on so well.
“It was also of particular importance to me to collaborate with someone from another firm, with whom I have connected and become friends over the years, as an example of how connections can lead to friendship and then naturally a means of support.”
Alongside her legal practice, Glover is a qualified mediator, a published author and co-chair of the Buckinghamshire and Berkshire Resolution Committee.
Newbold-Brown is a Citywealth top 75 family lawyer and co-founded the working group Pets on Divorce to advocate for legal reform that treats pets as more than property in divorce proceedings.
