Family law firms across the country have announced a raft of appointments with newly qualified solicitors choosing to remain after the training contracts and partner promotions.
Guildford-based TWM Solicitors has confirmed that six second-year trainees have successfully completed their training contracts, with five choosing to remain at the firm as newly qualified solicitors. Among them is Jake Channing, who joins the Family team, reinforcing TWM’s capabilities in this vital practice area. The five started their training in August 2023 with their transition into qualified roles described as a ‘significant milestone for both the individuals and the firm’ by Jamie Berry, Managing Partner at TWM:

Top 200 law firm Myerson has announced the promotion of Sarah Whitelegge to Legal Director in its Family team. Whitelegge has been with the firm since 2018 and is a Resolution Accredited Specialist and trained Collaborative Lawyer. Her promotion recognises her expertise in children matters, financial settlements, and domestic violence cases. Joining Whitelegge in the Family team is Brittany Rodwell, who completed her training contract at JMW Solicitors and will begin her new role in September. Rodwell’s appointment comes as Myerson continues to expand its family law offering in response to rising client demand.

Liverpool-based MSB Solicitors has announced the promotion of seven team members to Partner, including Katie Camozzi and Daniel Pierce, both specialists in children’s law. The promotions reflect MSB’s culture of development and long-term investment in its people.

In an appointment described as a ‘strategic leadership move’ St Albans based SA Law has appointed Kiran Beeharry as Joint Head of Family Law, working alongside long-standing department leader Marilyn Bell, who has led the team for two decades. Kiran joined SA Law in 2012 and became a Partner in 2019. He is recognised by both The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for his precision and strategic insight. His practice focuses on high-value and complex asset-tracing cases, often involving international elements, and includes niche expertise in Islamic marriage and divorce.

Stroud and Gloucester-based WSP Solicitors has promoted Lydia Andrews has been promoted to Senior Associate in the Family Law team. Andrews is a Law Society Children Law Accredited, specialising in child arrangements and domestic abuse cases. Osbornes Law has appointed Melissa Arnold as Partner in its Family team. Melissa, formerly of Bindmans, brings over 20 years’ experience in high-net-worth divorce and domestic violence cases. Joining her is Serena Sandhu, a Senior Associate and 2024 Family Law Champion of the Year, known for her work in child abduction and forced marriage.
