4PB’s Barbara Mills KC leads delegation to Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration

Barbara Mills KC, 4PB’s Joint Head of Chambers, has this week led a delegation from the Bar Council of England and Wales to Nairobi, where among other things, there was a meeting at the Nairobi Centre of International Arbitration.

The meeting was an exchange of ideas regarding potential collaboration and how the parties’ combined expertise can bring positive change to the legal landscapes, with a particular focus on bringing arbitration and mediation.

The Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration is a centre for the promotion of international commercial arbitration & alternative forms of dispute resolution.

In addition to joining the delegation in her capacity as Vice-Chair Elect 2024 of the Bar Council, Barbara is a leading mediator who is regularly instructed in mediation, as well as accepting instructions via Direct Access and in Private Children’s Law cases.

She has recently been recognised in the Private FDR Judges and Arbitrators and Family/Matrimonial: ADR categories of Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners respectively, and ranked in the top tier in both directories. Commenting on the meeting and future plans, Barbara Mills KC, said:

“It was fantastic to meet with the team at the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration and see firsthand how alternative dispute resolution is developing and evolving in Kenya. We are looking forward to knowledge sharing and collaboration with our Kenyan counterparts.”
