Recruitment news: Family lawyers on the move

Several leading family law firms across the UK have announced significant developments, strengthening their teams and expanding services to better support clients navigating complex family matters.

Ellisons Solicitors has enhanced its offering for separating couples in Essex and Suffolk with the introduction of Resolution Together. Legal Director Anna Cross has qualified to deliver the service, joining colleagues Sally Ward and Samantha Chase in the firm’s growing team of Resolution Together-trained professionals. The model aims to reduce conflict, save costs, and avoid court proceedings, with early uptake already showing promising results.

Lisa Dawson, Partner and Head of Family at Ellisons, said:

“Resolution Together is transforming how families approach separation, helping them resolve issues with less stress, lower costs and a focus on what matters most.”

Anna Cross added that the approach offers couples “a more supportive and constructive way” to navigate separation.

Family Law in Partnership (FLiP) has welcomed family lawyer Carol Ellinas to its team. Joining from Russells, Carol brings a wealth of experience advising high-net-worth individuals, including celebrities and business leaders, on a wide range of family law issues. Known for her collaborative approach, Carol’s arrival reinforces FLiP’s commitment to providing tailored, empathetic support.

Carol commented:

“FLiP treats each client as an individual, offering all the information and support needed to make life-changing decisions. I’m delighted to join a team of world-class professionals who share my values.”

Russell-Cooke has announced the return of Lauren Hall as Partner in its Family and Children team. A specialist in international children law and a founding member of the Child Abduction Lawyers Association, Lauren rejoins the firm after leading the International Children practice at Osbornes Law. Her expertise in cross-border disputes and high-conflict cases further strengthens Russell-Cooke’s family law team, which has recently seen the addition of partners Katie Longmate and Rachel Donald, and the return of senior associate James Sandiford.

Partner Hannah Field said:

“Lauren’s return, alongside other recent appointments, reinforces our position as one of London’s leading family law practices.” Lauren expressed her enthusiasm for rejoining the firm, noting its alignment with her professional ethos and commitment to constructive family law.”

TV Edwards Solicitors has appointed Alia Lewis as Partner and Head of Public Law Children, another lawyer returning to the firm where she began her legal career. Alia is widely recognised for her pioneering work in neurodivergent advocacy, having founded the UK’s first autism and ADHD specialist legal unit at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. Her trauma-informed approach and lived experience as a parent of an autistic child inform her practice, which focuses on complex children law cases involving issues such as fabricated illness, mental health, and deprivation of liberty.

Managing Partner Julian Overton said:

“Alia’s ground-breaking work aligns seamlessly with our values and vision.”

Alia added:

“It’s a privilege to return to TV Edwards. I look forward to embedding bespoke, trauma-informed models that improve outcomes for neurodivergent clients.”
